Google +1 Button Is Now Live

Google +1, the answer of the search engine giant to Facebook's popular like button just went live today. The purpose of the +1 button is the same as the like button found on Facebook. But being part of the Google empire, the plus button has an advantage over the innovative like button. And that is being integrated to every search result on Google.

Analysts say that this is a precursor of Google converting their search results into a type of social media platform. If that does happen, then it would have a great impact on SEM, SEO and web surfing in general as clicking on a +1 button on a site will boost its SERP rank.

How to use the Google +1 button?

Just like any social media button, you must first have an account. Google +1 uses Google Profiles as its base.

Here's how you access your Google Profile

1. Log into your Gmail account.

2. On the upper right part of the screen, click on Create Profile.

3. Fill in all the information you want to fill then click "done editing"

That's it! Now youre ready to use +1.
