Will SEO Become A Thing Of The Past?

We at Filipino Article Writer have long been debating if SEO will become a thing of the past. As internet users and companies now lean more toward the use of social media platforms in promoting their businesses, we can’t help but ask the question, is the need for SEO still relevant?

Before

During the early days of the internet and website marketing, SEO was just all about having reciprocal links, meta tags, solid titles and the submission of one’s site to as many directories that are deemed reputable. But as Google altered its algorithms, people started to realize that the old tricks they used to employ in gunning for prized keywords have become obsolete. This led into the development and use of organic links.

This new mindset included the idea of creating a strong backlink structure coupled with good content.

Now

Social media dominates the virtual landscape. Actually, the lines between virtual and real worlds when it comes to marketing and interaction are starting to get blurred. And with this, the terms SEM (search engine marketing) and SMO (social media optimization) were born.

Some industry analysts claim that SEO is already dead, and that SEM and SMO will become the method of choice when it comes to the SERP game.

In the Future

Though it is undeniable that SMO and SEM are definitely important factors for website visibility, by no means do I think will it replace or “kill” SEO. What I see is an integration of these mediums in developing newer methods on how to help market a website, both to search engines and to potential clients.

As the social media analyst for the collective Alova Media and its blog Filipino Article Writer, I do believe that SEO will not die, but rather evolve into something reactive to the marketing needs of websites, internet users, and search engines.

Optimization will never go away as it is something that is needed for every website on the net. But in order to fully take advantage of new optimization trends, a website must require the services of individuals which understand not only the technical side of the internet but also the mindset of its users.

We at Alova Media and Filipino Article Writer believe that effective future optimization practices requires a fine balance of old optimization methods and a firm grasp on how social media works and ways on how to properly utilize it.
